Now is a good time to extend some gratitude
For me anyway, Christmas is not about the presents (I am not big into the presents to tell you the truth). It is about gratitude, kindness and compassion.
I am grateful to my partner, Lewis, who is the brains behind MoodSmith!
I am grateful for my mum and all of my family.
I am grateful for all the bumps I have had along my journey so far, as they have made me resilient.
I am grateful for the kindness people have shown toward me.
I am grateful for the experiences and friends, the musicians and dancers, that I shared many happy years with in Belfast during my twenties.
I am grateful for the musician that is, Lewis
I am grateful for the mathematical mind, that is Lewis
I am grateful (if not fully understanding of) the love of physics, that is Lewis
Thank you for your kindness, for your acceptance, and for always standing by my side.
The presents don’t matter. The iPhones, the iPads or whatever you wanted for Christmas this year.
They are tools (albeit it nice, aesthetically pleasing ones,) but tools all the same.
Taking some time to be appreciative of what you have in your life, is what will make the most difference to you.
People you are close to, or people that you do not often see, but that have impacted you in some way. This is what matters.
Taking time to feel the gratitude. This is what matters.
Expressing that gratitude. This is what matters.
I am grateful to you all.
