Ben gets nervous, days and weeks before he has to meet up with particular people.

This makes him anxious
So makes excuses not to go
But then he gets annoyed with himself for not going or if he does make it, he analyses everything in great detail when he comes home. He feels small
Why did I say that?
He avoids it in the future
The situation seems like it goes on forever, even though he avoids some things and makes excuses, it stays alive in his head with his analysis, and the cycle continues.
